Bio

Bruno Gaeta is a Mexico-based DP and a member of the SCU (Uruguayan Society of Cinematography). He was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, but has lived in Mexico for the past fifteen years, where he also completed his studies (CUEC/ENAC-UNAM).

He maintains a balance between fiction and documentary projects, as well as commercials and music videos. His work has taken him to shoot in different parts of the world, including Uruguay, Colombia, Iceland, Greenland, Rwanda, the United States, and Panama.

His debut feature, Paper Boats, was nominated at several festivals and won the HBO Latino Film Festival in 2019. In 2025, he shot his third feature film, Tiempo de Jacarandas. He also shot the series Prefiero la muerte (8 episodes, Prime Video – 2026) and Timbiriche (8 episodes, VIX – 2026, co-cinematography with Marc Bellver).

Among the short films he has shot, Chica de Fábrica stands out, which premiered at Sundance 2023; Manchester Acatitla—honorable mention at FICG 21 and nominated for the Ariel Awards 2022—as well as Agustina, winner of the Ariel Award 2023 for Best Short Film.
